fwd, pronounced “forward”, is a quiet layer across your Android phone, your browser and your Mac. Send a link, a note or a file, end-to-end encrypted, and it’s already there. A simple, private alternative to Pushbullet.

From here to there
Every device you own, in every place you are, on the same quiet layer.
At work · Chrome
An article, a ticket, the address for tonight. Send the page from your browser and close the tab.
On the way · Android
It arrives on your phone as a notification you can open or copy. Share anything back from the share sheet.
At home · Mac
Photos, PDFs and documents up to 25 MB, in any direction. Your history follows you, synced and searchable.
End-to-end encrypted
Everything is sealed on the device that sends it and opened on the one that receives it. In between, it’s noise. Even to us.
Your devices encrypt everything before it leaves them. Our servers relay it but can’t read your forwards, your file names or the names of your devices.
A new device needs approval from one you already have, using a QR or manual code. Your saved recovery key restores your history if you lose every device.

What it does
The current page, a link, an image, selected text or a file. From the toolbar or right-click menu, or press Cmd+Shift+X on a Mac, Ctrl+Shift+X elsewhere.
Share anything from Android’s share sheet straight to your other devices, or send what’s on your clipboard.
Every forward, sent and received, synced and searchable. A device that’s asleep or offline picks up what you sent when it’s back. Deleting a forward removes it from every device as they reconnect; files you’ve saved stay yours.
Photos, PDFs and documents, with transfer progress and automatic retries. Uploads over 5 MB resume; smaller uploads restart if interrupted.
Where it runs
One extension for Chrome and browsers built on it, like Comet, Dia, Arc, Edge and Brave.
A native app, with your other devices in the share sheet and notifications you can act on.
A native menu bar app that sends and receives, even when your browser is closed. Your Mac needs to be awake, online and running fwd.
What’s next is on the roadmap, with how many people asked for each.

Forever free
Founding memberA thank-you to the first 100 people to set up fwd. All 100 places are taken.
Both include links, text and files, end-to-end encryption and synced, searchable history within your storage allowance. Founding members are the first 100 accounts to finish setup during the private beta. All 100 places are taken, and their larger plan is already on, free for as long as fwd operates.
Why we’re building it
Hey,
I built my workflow around Pushbullet. Sending a link from my phone to my computer felt effortless, until the tools I relied on stopped keeping up.
I got tired of the workarounds, so I started building fwd (“forward”): a Chrome extension, an Android app and a macOS menu bar app for sending links, text and files, end-to-end encrypted, with history on every device.

Questions, answered
“Forward.” fwd is short for forward, as in forwarding something to your other devices.
fwd is in an invite-only private beta for Chrome, Android and macOS. Join the waitlist and we’ll email you an invitation; we invite people in batches. Already have an invite? Download fwd for your devices.
The first release includes a Chrome extension for Chrome and Chromium browsers such as Comet, Dia, Arc, Edge and Brave, a native app for Android 8.0 or later, and a native menu bar app for macOS 14 or later. What comes next, and how many people asked for each, is on the roadmap; no release dates are announced. The Mac app and browser extension each count as a device if you enroll both.
Your devices encrypt links, text and files before sending them. Page titles, file names, file types, thumbnails and device names are also encrypted. The service relays and stores encrypted data, but still needs account and operational information such as your email address. Read the privacy policy for what we store and the security explanation for how encryption, device approval and recovery work.
During the private beta, each file can be up to 25 MB, with 1 GB of total storage per account and up to 5 devices. Storage includes encrypted history, thumbnails and files. Transfers are subject to rate limits. If your account is full, remove old forwards to make room; fwd does not silently delete older history to accept new forwards.
Yes. fwd is free during the beta, and the beta’s limits stay as the free plan when the beta ends: 25 MB per file, 1 GB of account storage and 5 devices, with the core links, text, files, encryption and history features. The first 100 accounts to finish setup became founding members and have a larger plan, free for as long as fwd operates; all 100 places are taken. Future paid plans and their prices have not been announced.
The first 100 accounts to finish setup, meaning they verified an email address and set up a first device, in the order they did it. All 100 places were taken on 19 October 2026. Founding members are on a plan with 100 MB per file, 5 GB of account storage and 10 devices, free for as long as fwd operates. See the terms for the commitment.
No. Once a forward is marked Sent, the service has stored it, encrypted, and your other devices pick it up when they’re next online, even if they were asleep or switched off when you sent it, unless it has been deleted. A forward still waiting to send has not reached that point. Background delivery depends on the operating system and network connection. The Mac app receives while your browser is closed, provided the app is running and the Mac is awake and online; it reconnects and syncs after sleep or a network interruption.
Your devices are about to start talking again. Join the waitlist for early access to the private beta.
